Administrator-managed clients

Platform administrators can create a new standalone client from Admin → Clients → Add Client, assign a plan, and grant access without a Paddle subscription or automatic billing. Organization administrators cannot create these accounts.

Create a client

  1. Sign in with your platform administration account and exit any support impersonation session.
  2. Open Admin → Clients, then select Add Client.
  3. Enter the organization name, optional company name, owner full name, and owner email.
  4. Choose Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3, with AI Included or BYOK.
  5. Select Create Client. Keep the form open until creation finishes.
  6. Give the owner the normal Sign In page address. No invitation email is sent, and the administrator does not set a password.

The owner receives organization administrator access, without platform administration privileges. Access has no automatic expiry. Normal plan allowances and feature restrictions apply. AI Included uses platform-funded allowances; BYOK requires an Anthropic API key through the existing BYOK setup.

The client list and Settings → Plan & Usage identify the plan as Administrator-managed. Paddle checkout, plan changes, cancellation, payment repair, and additional-credit purchases are unavailable for these accounts. Contact the platform administrator for changes. Creating MSP accounts, converting existing accounts, and scheduling an expiry are outside this flow.

Troubleshooting

  • An account already exists: This form creates new clients. It does not move an existing user, convert a pending signup, or change an existing customer's plan. Use a new owner email or contact the platform operator to review the existing account. If an unused email is reported as already existing, ask the operator to check the identity lookup; do not delete another account to bypass the message.
  • The identity provider rejected the organization: Give the platform operator the request reference. After they resolve the provider configuration or quota issue, retry with the same details. If the organization name was rejected, the operator can authorize a name-only correction; then retry with that corrected name and all other original details.
  • Creation is pending confirmation: Retry with exactly the same details. The saved request resumes safely. Do not try a different email or change the plan to work around an uncertain result.
  • The list did not refresh: A visible success message means creation succeeded. Refresh the list; do not submit another client.
  • The owner cannot sign in: Verify the owner email and the Clerk instance's configured sign-in methods. Account provisioning does not change authentication settings. BYOK analysis also needs a valid API key.
