Repositories and Scanning
Q: How long does a scan take?
A: Can I Run That uses batch processing with Anthropic for cost efficiency. Processing time:
- In most cases: Completes within a few minutes
- Maximum time: Up to 24 hours (very rare)
The batch processing approach reduces costs compared to synchronous API calls, though it may occasionally take longer than real-time processing. You can monitor progress on the Repository Status page.
Q: Can I analyze private repositories?
A: No, not at this time. Can I Run That requires repositories to be publicly accessible.
Q: What file types does Can I Run That analyze?
A: Can I Run That analyzes source code and configuration files, including:
- Source code (Python, JavaScript, Java, C/C++, Go, Rust, etc.)
- Configuration files (JSON, YAML, XML, etc.)
- Dependency files (package.json, requirements.txt, go.mod, etc.)
- Build files (Dockerfile, Makefile, etc.)
Contact Support if you have specific file types you'd like analyzed.
Q: Can I re-scan a repository?
A: Yes. You can re-scan a repository at any time:
- Go to Scan History
- Find your repository
- Click Re-scan to start a new analysis
You can also set up Automated Scheduling for regular scans.
Q: What does each risk grade mean?
A: Can I Run That assigns risk grades from A (lowest risk) to F (highest risk) based on the severity and number of findings. See Viewing Reports for details on risk grades, categories, and severity levels.
Sharing and Collaboration
Q: Can I share reports with my team?
A: Yes. You can generate shareable report links that allow others to view your security findings without needing a Can I Run That account. See Share Reports for details.
Q: How do I invite team members?
A: Only organization admins can invite team members:
- Go to Team Management
- Click Invite Members
- Enter the email addresses of team members to invite
See Team Management for more information on roles and permissions.
Q: What permissions do team members have?
A: Can I Run That supports two roles:
- Admin — Can manage team members, settings, and organization configuration
- Member — Can submit repositories and view reports (limited access to settings)
See Team Management for detailed permissions.
Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) and API Keys

A: BYOK allows you to use your own Anthropic API key for scans, giving you full control over your data and billing. See BYOK Overview for details.

A: Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) and All-Inclusive plans are available for every tier (Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3). See BYOK Overview for plan details and pricing.

A: Follow these steps:
- Create an account at Anthropic Console
- Enable billing on your account (required before your key works)
- Navigate to API Keys
- Create a new API key
- Copy the key immediately (it's only shown once)
See Anthropic Setup for detailed instructions.
