Monitor Scan Progress
Track the real-time progress of your repository or extension analysis on the status page.
Accessing the Status Page
After submitting a repository or extension for analysis, you'll be taken to the Repository Status page if the analysis is currently in progress.
Note: If the analysis has already completed, you'll be taken directly to the report instead of the status page.
Understanding Status Indicators
The Repository Status page displays the current state of your analysis. The status progresses through several stages:
| Status | Meaning | What's Happening |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | Submission accepted and queuing | Your submission is being prepared and queued for analysis |
| Analyzing | Security analysis in progress | The system is scanning your code for vulnerabilities and issues |
| Complete | Analysis finished successfully | Your report is ready to view |
| Failed | Analysis encountered an error | The submission failed; see error details below the status |
Auto-Refresh Behavior
The Repository Status page automatically refreshes every 5 seconds to show you the latest status updates without needing to reload the page manually.
How Auto-Refresh Works
- When you're on the Repository Status page, the page automatically checks for updates every 5 seconds
- If there's a status change (e.g., from "Queued" to "Analyzing"), the page updates immediately
- The refresh happens silently in the background — your position on the page is maintained
Manual Refresh
If you want to refresh the status immediately without waiting for the auto-refresh:
- Press F5 or Ctrl+R (Windows/Linux) / Cmd+R (Mac) to manually refresh the page
When the Analysis is Complete
Once your analysis reaches the Complete status:
- A green checkmark or success indicator appears
- The message "Analysis Complete" or similar is displayed
- A View Report button or link becomes available
- Click View Report to see your security findings
See View Security Reports for details on understanding your report.
If Analysis Fails
If your submission results in a Failed status:
Error Information
The status page displays:
- Error Type: What went wrong (e.g., "Repository not found", "Invalid format")
- Error Message: Human-readable description of the problem
- Error Details (if available): Technical information about the failure
Common Failure Reasons
| Error | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Repository not found | URL is incorrect or repository doesn't exist | Verify the repository URL and try again |
| Access denied | Repository requires authentication | Ensure the URL is correct and the repository is public |
| Network timeout | Connection to Git server failed | Check your internet connection; try resubmitting |
| Invalid file format | Uploaded extension file is corrupted or missing manifest.json | Ensure the file contains a valid manifest.json and resubmit |
Resubmitting After Failure
To resubmit after a failure:
- Go back to Submit a Repository or Submit a Browser Extension
- Review your submission details
- Correct any issues and submit again
Monitoring Multiple Submissions
If you've submitted multiple repositories or extensions:
- Return to the Dashboard to see all your submissions
- Each submission shows its current status
- Click any submission to view its detailed Repository Status page or report
Next Steps
- View Your Report: Once analysis is complete, see View Security Reports
- Schedule Future Scans: Set up automated periodic scans in Scan Scheduling
Troubleshooting
Status Not Updating
The status page shows "Analyzing" but hasn't changed for a long time
- Auto-refresh may be temporarily paused if there's a network issue

Page Won't Load
Cannot access the Repository Status page
- Ensure you're logged in to your RepoRisk account
