Share Reports

Generate shareable links to your security reports so team members and stakeholders can view findings.

Overview

The Share Report feature allows you to:

  • Create unique shareable links to send to team members, managers, or external stakeholders
  • Control access without requiring recipients to have RepoRisk accounts
  • Enable or disable sharing at any time to control access to your reports

Accessing the Share Report Feature

From the Report Page

  1. Log in to your RepoRisk account at https://app.canirunthat.com
  2. Navigate to a completed analysis report (see View Security Reports for details)
  3. On the report page, click the Share Report button (typically in the top-right area or action menu)

Report Page Options Menu

If you don't see a Share Report button:

  1. Look for a More Options menu (three dots icon or similar)
  2. Click on it and select Share Report from the dropdown menu

Step 1: Open Your Report

  1. Log in to your RepoRisk account at https://app.canirunthat.com
  2. Navigate to a completed analysis report (see View Security Reports for details)
  3. Click the Share report button

Step 2: Choose Report Type

In the Share Report dialog, toggle on the report type you want to share:

Simplified Report

  • Suitable for sharing with clients or non-technical stakeholders
  • Shows overall risk grade and key findings without technical details

Full Report

  • Suitable for technical team members
  • Includes all findings, detailed severity levels, and code references

Step 3: Copy and Share

  1. Copy the generated shareable link
  2. Share the link via email, messaging apps, or any secure channel
  3. Recipients can access the report without needing a RepoRisk account

Accessing a Shared Report

For Recipients:

  1. Click the shareable link you received
  2. The report opens in your browser
  3. No account is required

Disabling Sharing

To stop sharing a report:

  1. Open the report
  2. Click Share report again
  3. Toggle off Simplified Report and/or Full Report
  4. The link immediately stops working

You can re-enable sharing at any time to reactivate the same link.

Adding Individual Users to a Report

In addition to shareable links, you can grant specific users access to view the full report (including file-level details) using their own login credentials.

Granting Access

  1. Open the report and click the "Share Report" button
  2. In the Share Report dialog, scroll down to the "Individual Access" section
  3. Enter the user's email address in the input field
  4. Click the Add button
  5. The user will appear in the access list below

How Individual Access Works

  • Existing users — If the email belongs to an existing RepoRisk user, they will immediately see the report on their dashboard
  • New users — If the email does not belong to an existing user, an invitation will be created so they can sign up and access the report
  • Users with individual access can view the full report and drill into file-level details with their own login — unlike shareable links, which do not include file drill-down
  • After adding a user, click "Copy link" to copy a direct link to this report, then send it to the user via email or messaging

Revoking Access

  1. Open the Share Report dialog
  2. In the Individual Access section, find the user in the access list
  3. Click the remove button (trash icon) next to their name
  4. The user will immediately lose access to the report
tip

Individual access is ideal when you want users to have their own authenticated view of the report with full file details, rather than a public shareable link.

Shared Report Capabilities

When viewing a shared report, you can:

  • View the Risk Grade and Score — Overall security assessment
  • Browse Findings — Review security findings

Shared report viewers cannot drill down into individual file details, edit the report, or access other repositories. For full file-level drill-down, use Individual Access to grant users their own authenticated view.
